You can start a run easily using the ACTIVITY REGISTER. Just press PLAY button in the main screen and go on! Or...

You can import your activities in many great platforms, like Garmin, Nikeplus and Health App. So, you dont need to abandon your preferred device.
You can share your status in facebook with your friends. See the steps:

1. You must create an account. If you have a Garmin or Nikeplus device, create a username and password exactly as your account (Go to Config at the top right of screen and select your device, after this, go to Register an Activity and config your login information).
2. Create a challenge. You can choose one for distance (with no limits of kilometers) or for speed. In this case, choose the target distance for measure the best time. Minor time wins.
3. You can create a public or a private challenge. If you create a public challenge, everyone can enter in the challenge. If you choose a private challenge (not free), only you can invite someone to participate.

SEE MORE INFORMATION REPORT (ONLY AVAILABLE FOR GARMIN AND NIKE PLUS USERS):
You can get a report of an activity (in Garmin account only, not free) and obtain race information like efficiency index and threshold limits.
You can see everyone activities in Garmin or Nikeplus platforms. So there is no cheating in the competition. Everyone see everyones activities.

You need to configure your Garmin or Nikeplus to PUBLIC visibility. Its a rule of Start Run ! Everyone can view your activities.

FIND SIMILAR RUNNERS LIKE YOU!
Use the Group function. This is the best way to find challenges or friends that have the same pace or weekly mileage. You can change your Group everytime. You will find more fair competitions.
To find a friend, you can use the Group button (on the top-right) to filter and you can put the name, city, state and/or country. Its too easy. Dont put comma or other punctuations, only space between words.

APPLE HEALTH APP:
You can use Apple Health App to register your workout activity and integrate with your health data (calories, body mass, blood type, age, height and sex).

In this case, you must give privileges (Go to Configuration->Privacy->HealthKit->Start Run and configure Distance Walking and Running, Workouts, calories, body mass, blood type, date birth, height and sex options) to Start Run in the Health App configuration.
In this new version, you can use the device GPS to register your activity.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Note: See RunX app for triathletes. You can create swim, bike and run activities.
